Grandpa’s Travels

Yes – it’s late…

But finished is the little lap “sweater” for Grandma’s birthday (and it was delivered to her ON her birthday – bonus!).

Here’s the front again (better picture than last week on top of the dog crate).

And the back is a couple of pieces of flannel leftover from other projects (because the plaid wasn’t quite big enough…).

All ready to go to the birthday party!

And now for the next Grandpa quilt – I don’t know if it was the size, or the number of blocks (or the weather!) but I feel like I’ve been working on this one forever! Maybe you do too – I think I’ve shown it in progress a couple of times.

I’ve mentioned that it’s also from the “Scraps and Shirttails II” book by Bonnie Hunter – the pattern in her book is called Road to Oregon (or something like that – it’s too late to find the book and check :)). I don’t know if Grandpa ever made it to Oregon, but he was the proverbial traveling salesman for much of his life, so Grandpa’s Travels seemed fitting.

And it’s done!

Finally!

(That’s son P and A-DIL-M’s dog, Lily, holding it down for me :)). Linking to Finish-it-up-Friday.

Nuff said.
