Owl Love Finish

The Owl Love quilt is finished! And it’s the first finish of 2016!

You might remember the Giraffe Love quilt from a while ago (like a year and a half ago now!). For the Owl Love quilt, I used the same pattern from the original Quilt Junction kit and some very cute owls as the focus fabric (Debbie Mumm Cute Critters Owl Toss Grey – which I also found at Quilt Junction a year later during the July Shop Hop 2015).

This one is for a little one who is just in the planning stages – sending out good vibes to the parents-to-be :).

The back is made up of leftovers from the strip sets, the remaining owl fabric and some stashed charcoal grey Kona cotton solid, which I also used to bind the finished quilt.

Getting used to the new camera, but still have to deal with the poor lighting (always a problem at this time of year!). I tried to brighten them a little bit but the key is definitely getting outside for a photo earlier in the day and I’m disappointed that these pics don’t do this cheerful little quilt justice. Looking forward to the longer, brighter days ahead!

Linking up with Finish-it-up-Friday over at CrazyMomQuilts for the first time in 2016.

Happy January Friday!
