Grown-up Pillows

Recently, Granddaughter G. has been talking about redecorating her room in black, white and turquoise because bubblegum pink is for “little girls” and not mature enough for a grown-up eleven year old. Hmmm…..

Never-the-less, decorating is always fun, and there happened to be tons of black and white fabric left over from the B&W&P Bento Box quilt. I think these pillows are a great contribution to the new colour scheme!

And in a nod to her former love of pink (and to be honest, she still does love pink :)) I used a little pink, white and grey striped fabric as a piping of sorts around the outer edges.

The pillows final measurements clocked in at about 29 inches wide by 20 inches tall – just perfect for snuggling with as we move into cooler fall weather. They feature the standard envelop back and a pillow form that I stuffed with a polyester quilt batting pulled out of another quilt project (more on that one soon!).

And another finish! Linking up with Finish-it-up-Friday over at CrazyMomQuilts.

Happy Friday!

That fabric is perfect for a black and white themed room! Love the pop of pink on the piping too.
