Hello 2017!

It’s hard to believe that we’re already 3 weeks into January! It’s been a busy start to the year but I’m pleased with this week’s finish.

This is a Way-Back Project from way, way back – the finished quilt top has been sitting around for maybe 10 years, so it’s really great to have it finished and ready to use. Both front and back are flannel so I should be very cozy for the rest of the winter :).

The pattern was a free download from McCall’s Quilting called Country Spirit – and I can hardly believe that I can still find it online after so many years :). I added two sets of borders to make the finished quilt larger than the original lap size since I wanted to use it on my bed.

A perfect finish to start the year so linking up with Finish-it-up-Friday over at CrazyMomQuilts.

While it may be tradition to begin the year with a retrospective of the past year and plans for the coming year, I originally began this blog with one goal – to document progress toward a clean and organized sewing room. Since Son J. and DIL T. have moved back home and currently reside in our extra space, so many odds and ends have shifted into the sewing room for lack of a better place to store them and this goal feels further away than ever.

So for 2017, one goal and one goal only – sewing room perfection!

Bring it on 2017!
