New Year, New Finishes

Happy New Year! The New Year may be old news, but around here (as always) it’s been busy so I’m catching up.

With a little extra sewing time, there have been several finishes over the holidays. First up, another Christmas stocking:

Here it is with it’s partner and a wee stocking from long ago, all ready to receive a visit from Santa :).

I also made a few of these buckets for 4 of the 5 grandchildren as “wrapping” for their gifts (the 5th grandchild was given a second-hand sewing machine – another potential quilter in the family!). The buckets are intended to contain the small pieces of lego/duplo that were tucked inside – hopefully the parents appreciate the containment efforts :). The pattern is from the book Fat Quarter Home by Amanda Russell and Juliet Bawden and was supper easy to make – I will probably be making a few more!

This next one is not technically mine, but since it’s been sitting in my sewing room waiting for a binding for months and I completed it, I’m counting it as a finish. Daughter E. created this quilt as a class project with her grade 2/3 class so the credit really goes to them 🙂 – and now it can go home!

And last but not least, two more blocks completed for the 2017 July Shop Hop quilt.

I’m hoping to track down the finishing kit at one of our LQSs in the next month or two and get this one done and out of the sewing room before too long as well.

And that’s what I’ve been up to over the holidays so linking up to Finish-it-up-Friday over at CrazyMomQuilts (although technically Saturday at this point :)).

Happy New Year!

  1. I totally agree that those fabric buckets are addictive!! I made 20 in various sizes over the holidays. I hope yours turned out to be appreciated!
