I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, so I decided that finishing up some of the 2017 July Shop Hop blocks might be a good way to ease myself back into my sewing routine.
This one is from Sew Etc in Burlington, Ontario. 2017 was the first year this shop participated – it’s always great to find a new shop :).
This one is from Sew Creative in Mount Brydges, Ontario.
This one went together like a dream – one of my favourites so far – and is called the Snowy Owl Block from The Quilt Place in Shakespeare, Ontario (also a favourite shop :)).
And this one, also easy to put together, is from Quilt Junction in Waterford, Ontario – a shop we look forward to visiting every summer during the Shop Hop. I think there are only a couple more of these blocks to complete – the appliqué ones of course :).
And since I was sewing blocks anyway and I’ve been admiring the Quilting Life 2018 BOMs over at A Quilting Life, I decided to sew a couple of more blocks.
The January Block.
And the February Block.
I’ve followed Sherri’s illustrated colour scheme pretty closely since the finished result is a mystery. So far I’ve not had an issue with this plan, but I may eventually have to deviate depending on how the stash holds out. Sherri has also created Christmas versions of each of her blocks and since I’m always intending to create quilts and pillows and tree skirts for Christmas season decor but never seen to actually get around to it in time for Christmas each year, I may have to follow her lead on this plan as well!
The March Block was posted just this week and I haven’t yet had a chance to sew it up, but hopefully by this time next week I will have my version of the March Block to share as well. There might not be too much else since there is some travel coming up this week, but I’m trying to at least commit to one block :).
Happy Spring Friday!
